I understand this is not a replacement for licensed medical treatment. I understand that Reiki is a relaxation and stress-reduction technique. Reiki practitioners do not diagnose or prescribe substances nor interfere with the treatment of a licensed medical professional. Reiki practitioners are not currently licensed in the US. I understand that Mary Brown is not a licensed physician and that Reiki is complementary to and separate from medical services licensed by the state in which I reside. Reiki is delivered while the client is either seated in a chair or lying supine. It is not a form of massage, and the client remains fully clothed.
